Michael Michalsky is regarded as one of Germany’s most influential designers.
He has worked as Design Manager at Levi’s and as Worldwide Creative Director for Adidas before founding his own label “MICHALSKY” in 2006 in Berlin.
The MICHALSKY label serves the high-fashion segment and combines classical styles that are influenced by sports and streetwear elements. The result convinces with discreet luxury and the combination of quality, tradition and current trends.
Michael's creativity is in great demand beyond the fields of fashion. Many companies from a variety of sectors have asked the designer for his ideas and creative input. Michael Michalsky, therefore, established the "MICHALSKY designLab" to realize product design, interior decorating as well as corporate design projects. Its client base includes Sony, Marriott, Disney, Intel, and BMW, among others.
In 2012 Michael has launched a variety of products for homes under the brand "MICHALSKY LIVING". The collection today includes sofas, wallpapers, carpets, cutlery and tableware. "MICHALSKY is a modern lifestyle label for people who live in large cities all over the world," he said speaking about his label in 2014.
Since 2005 Michael Michalsky has worked as MCM's Creative Director and has significantly contributed to the very successful relaunch of this long-established brand for luxury bags.
Michael's most important sources of inspiration are music and art. He's passionate about photography and has gathered a considerable private collection of works by Herbert List, Yva, Edmund Kesting, Helmar Lerski and Horst P. Horst which includes numerous fashion images from the 1950s, 1960s and 1970s.
